i am only starting a blog because i want to be one of the boys. all of the boys in the band are tweeting and blogging so i feel a bit pressured to put myself out there the way that they do. but i guess it could be interesting depending on what kind of trouble we get ourselves into this tour. j/k we're so well behaved. i literally watch soap operas in my hotel room during the day and play my bass like a good girl. i think i've had 3 drinks this entire time. i love the rock-n-roll lifestyle. it's nerdy just like me.
Blogging can be real useful. You can always look back and remember your life when you read older entries, which I love. I used to blog a lot in the early 2000's on Livejournal and let me tell you, it's been neat looking back and reading what I've been through through out those years.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, welcome to the blogging world, Nicole! It can be addicting at times.
What secludedgrrrl said. I get chills just reading my old livejournal from my college days.I can imagine how amazing it'll be to read even mundane things from that time I JOINED THE FREAKIN' SMASHING PUMPKINS.
ReplyDeleteWelcome, and thanks. Can't wait to see y'all in NYC! Since you aren't coming to New Orleans, I'm making quite a haul, so rock it.
You are amazing, thanks so much, I'm glad all of you have blogs...except Billy, he just does tweets, you guys need to gang up on him and make him start a blog too. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, congrats! I am working on figuring out the blogging thing too. Your tweet caught my eye too, because our local music mag(Magazine33) just gave away 2 tickets last night on our little radio show to your show at The National in Richmond on Tuesday. The best Halloween story was the theme - whoever called in the best one got the tix. We had a crazy kind of gross story win.

ReplyDeletei wrote the new owata bassline, so thanks for the kudos! : )
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to reply to individual comments yet, so i just wanna say thanks for all the positive feedback. it's so much fun to be on tour rocking out for you beauties.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the Richmond show. The National is a great venue.
ReplyDeletecome to Australia - it will be warm soon! (By Australia I mean Melbourne, of course ...)
ReplyDeleteNicole, try to convince Billy to record 'Peace and Love', 'The Leaving Lament', '99 Floors'. at least as a b-sides :) thou they are A songs.. everyone likes them so much.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading this blog and all of the lads' ones too.
ReplyDeleteNicole; not had a chance to see a live show with you yet(being from the UK and all) but from the bootlegs I've heard and the youtube vids I can HONESTLY say; great job so far! Everything thus far seems to be clicking and I imagine things will only get better from here.
When Billy said this is the best line-up since the original four, I'll admit I was a little skeptical (and I'm normally positive on all things SP) but from what I've heard thus far, Billy's right and I am VERY excited about this incarnation of the band.
Good luck on the rest of the tour, looking forward to seeing you live some time soon. Keep bloggin'!
and Nicole, maybe you could reveal the tracklist of EP 2 The Solstice Bare? :)
ReplyDeletewe know that it contains Freak. What about other songs? Tom Tom? When the Cocks Crow? Make it Happen? Owata? Some totally unknown song? Im pretty sure, that Tom Tom is a part of EP2 because there is a lyric in that great song, the lyric is - This side of THE SOLSTICE BARE. the name of the second ep;). and what about other two songs?
Hey,
ReplyDeleteI really love the new line up, and I think the quiet majority of folks are really impressed and excited to see both nice people and excellent musicians integrated into their favorite band. Bass line on Owata is really good.. I'm looking forward to you and Jeff contributing to the writing.
So in between songs, are you thinking about the latest love triangle or coma victim from days of our lives? I love that you seem so down to earth and decidedly undrugged.

Saw you in Columbus and you guys rocked. I was down front toward Jeff. I watched the chemistry and you all seemed to be have good times. Billy was smiling, Mike kicks ass back there and you were laying some sweet heavy lines. Hope you stick around and we love you all...
ReplyDeleteYou guys should come to iceland, I´ll cook up a tasty fish soup for you guys while you play gossamer under the midnight sun.
ReplyDeletedeal?
